Introducing New Chip Enabled Visa® Debit Cards
Chip technology is becoming the global standard for debit (and credit) card payments. A chip card is a debit (or credit) card that contains an embedded microchip as well as the traditional magnetic stripe. The chip encrypts information to increase data security when making transactions at a chip‐enabled terminal.
Elderton State Bank is pleased to inform you that we will be replacing all cards with chip-enabled debit cards. You will be receiving a new Visa® Debit card with chip technology in the next 30 days.
- To ensure increased protection against fraud, activate this new card immediately. Simply activate your new chip card at any ATM using your existing PIN number. Your old Debit card can then be destroyed.
- Your new Debit card with chip technology has the same card number and PIN number, but includes a new expiration date. If your Debit card is set up for automatic bill pay with any merchant or services, you must notify them of the new card expiration date.
The insert and mailer included with your new card will also have additional information on how your new chip card works. Please review them carefully.
Elderton State Bank takes your security and privacy very seriously. We are eager to offer this chip card technology to our customers. Please call us at 724‐354‐2111, with any questions or concerns. You may also visit our website, www.eldertonbank.com, for additional security information.
